How A Social Media Manager Can Help You Grow Your Business

You may have heard of the Barefoot Bandit, a teenage boy who took his Huck Finn act a bit too far. He broke into homes and stole planes and then he went on Facebook, started a page and in 2 hours, he had 2,600 followers.

Of course he didn’t hire a social media manager to help him get such a following, but that was just to illustrate the power of social media. You can use social media marketing to work for you like this and it can do things for your business that you never thought of. The largest companies are using Facebook and Twitter now to bring us news on events and new products. What stops you?

Your only experience with social media so far may be social networking, but if you can hire someone who knows how to use social media to transform a business, then you will be well on your way to winning. This person is a social media manager, and his job will be primarily to sell your product to about 300 million users who use Facebook, Twitter and other social media websites. He will work on social media marketing, so that no matter if you don’t have a very good grasp how to do it yourself, he will do it for you.

How does social media management work? Your social media manager will do 3 primary things:

  1. He will create a strategy. A business should have a short term and a long term strategy. The goals in the short term strategy are the ones that will lead to the achievement of the long term strategy. Since he knows what needs to be done now to unveil you on the social media marketing stage, and then what he needs to do to follow up and make sure that he can transform that into $$$, he will write this up in the best way so that you can have a roadmap.
  2. He will follow this up by executing the strategy. He needs to do brand management – roll out your brand and create brand recognition as well as brand loyalty. He needs to build a reputation around your brand. He needs to execute the marketing strategy that was part of his social media marketing plan. As he is doing all this, he is increasing the number of clients that you have, he is increasing conversions so that you have more sales and he is building customer relationships. He is also executing a communication strategy so that you can have your customers loyalty, you can get repeat buys and you get even more customers.
  3. As your business continues to grow through the use of social marketing methods, it will get to the point where you need someone who is solely in charge of that end of things. Because you have had your social media manager with you for a while, you will be happy to know that you have someone on board who understands your business. You’ll work together seamlessly.

You may opt for social media consulting, which is a good option as well, but if you are looking to grow your business really big using social media, you are better off getting a social media manager.
